  Logbook Servicing

Whenever you purchase a new vehicle, the manufacturer provides you with a warranty that covers the cost of parts failure. This warranty is voided, however, if you don’t have your vehicle regularly serviced by a certified mechanic, who records and stamps these services in your vehicle’s logbook.

Inspections

If you’re planning on selling or otherwise transferring ownership of your vehicle, you must first ensure it qualifies for a roadworthy certificate. The roadworthy certificate, issued by a licensed tester after a thorough inspection, ensures your vehicle is legally safe to be driven on Victorian roads.

If you’re planning on buying a secondhand vehicle, we would recommend bringing it in for a pre-purchase inspection. This inspection ensures you know exactly what you’re buying, and helps you to avoid any nasty surprises.

Steering and Suspension

Faults in your vehicle’s steering and suspension affect handling and ride comfort, causing play in the steering wheel and body lean through corners. Your suspension is also responsible for maximising the grip that your tyres exert on the road, so a poor suspension will also increase your stopping distance.

Air Conditioning

Nothing ruins a summer drive faster than faulty air conditioning. Your aircon is interesting in that it degrades more from disuse than from use, as the multitude of rubber tubing, that comprises a lot of the system, dries up and cracks from disuse, allowing the refrigerant gas to leak out and rob your AC of its cooling power.

Here at U.S Car Care, we can fully repair your air conditioning, starting by replacing broken compressors and condensers, then swapping out cracked tubing, and finally recharging your system with refrigerant gas once we’re certain its airtight.

Cooling System

If your cooling system is malfunctioning, it can cause a myriad of problems, from reduced power output and fuel efficiency to decreased engine lifespan as overheating and leaking coolant damages the engine. If these problems are ignored for long enough, they will eventually render you vehicle immobile!

Brakes

Your brakes are the most important safety feature your vehicle has. While other safety systems, like airbags, can only reduce the severity of accidents, your brakes can also act preventatively, and the condition of your brakes often means the difference between an accident and an emergency stop.

Your brakes suffer a surprising amount of wear, routinely bringing over a tonne of metal to a complete stop, several times a day. For this reason, we agree with brake manufacturers that you should have your brakes checked at least once a year.
